Car Horn Alarm Clock

at 12:10 pm. Filed under DIY Hacks, Electronic Hacks

This Car Horn Alarm Clock is sure to wake you up in the morning. Not sure if the volume would beat my Fire Alarm Bell Alarm Clock but either is sure to get the job done. The clock in this hack has a nice small motor that is activated to ring the alarm on the stock unit. A small transistor is used to drive a mosfet to handle the large current needed for the car horn.

As a heavy sleeper to the point of having perpetual difficulties getting to my job in the morning, I’m sure this is a great piece of kit – as long as you live alone, in the middle of the Amazonian jungle, with not another human being around for miles and miles to divorce you / call the cops on you within the first week of use.

What did you connect the 3300 uF Cap. to in the circuit? It’s not in the schematic. However, I see it on the circuit board.

That kid’s on a roll. That was a very well-done video on a fun little project.

Max, get some X10 stuff and hook it up to turn on one or more very bright lights when it’s time to get up. Get lights that are 5000k color temperature. That bright blue light will help wake you up.
