    I am looking at this exact same project. Except, I plan on having the motor rotate the blinds instead of raise them. My blinds have a string pull for the rotate too.

    I plan on using a ESP-12 WiFi module re-flashed with Arduino and the web server library ($3).
    Using a 2 relay module as an H-bridge ($2)
    And an old car window crank motor (It is an after-market one that uses a similar type chain)(salvaged).

    I plan on using a potentiometer to find the rotation, but I like his Hall sensor.
