LED Heart Project

at 2:09 am. Filed under Cool Gadgets, Electronic Hacks

If you have someone special who you want to make a nice electronic project for have a look at this LED Heart Project over at PyroElecto. Chris made it for his Grandmothers 91st birthday! Just think of the technology that his Grandmother has seen in her time, I am sure she will get a kick out of it. A PIC 18F252 controls the 16 LEDs that are arranged in a heart shape. Nice thing about this LED project is the schematic is simple to look at, this is because each LED can be driven by a dedicated microcontroller pin, no need to use external serial to parallel chips or to charlieplex. There is a bunch of different patterns to keep you entertained. If you want to make your own the schematic and code are available.
