Automated Curtains using an Arduino

at 5:37 pm. Filed under DIY Hacks, Electronic Hacks

I really like to automate everything around me. Adafruit has featured this cool Automated Curtain system which uses an Arduino to handle the control. You can also carry out this idea to bring an innovative change for your house by hiding this arduino based system somewhere behind your curtains.

“I built a controller so that I can open and close my curtains from the command line! My apartment has a 16′ wide floor-to-ceiling window, and a correspondingly-huge curtain. I wanted to put the curtain under software control so I could do things like, for example, have it automatically open in the morning to help me get out of bed.”

This wasn’t an Adafruit page, it was originally from JWZ – kinda weird to credit the blog who posted someone else’s blog entry.

    Hi Hexmonkey,

Thanks for the feedback, this one wasn’t written by me personally but I do see that there is a direct link to the creators site and Adafruit where it was found.
