Frankenkindle

at 6:57 pm. Filed under DIY Hacks, Electronic Hacks

Glen Johnson built this Frankenkindle to help out his sister who has cerebral palsy. It uses some controls that were scavenged from a different device which has big easy to press buttons. Buttons on the added keypad have been made to activate macros that perform features on the Kindle. It is a bit slower than the normal Kindle controls but since this is a book reader and not a video gave player speed is not the most important thing.

For schematic and code for the project you can find it here (PDF).
