LED Display uses 76 thousand LEDs to generate 3D Images

at 6:12 pm. Filed under Insane Equipment

Seekway makes some huge LED displays, this LED Display uses 76 thousand LEDs to generate 3D Images. Creating one of these would be a lot more than a weekend project and unless you have a big building entrance to put it in I doubt you would get much use out of it but it can sure lend some inspiration to some smaller builds.

    Wow…

  2. Mats Says:

Nice. If all led’s would be lit at the same time it would require like 4500 amperes equaling about 12000 watts. It would heat up the room rather fast. :-)

  3. Tony Says:

    Wow indeed.

    And shouldn’t that be 66 x 48 x 24 x 3 since it’s colour, so that would be nearly 230,000 LEDs.

  4. dave96z34 Says:

I don’t think so they look like bi color leds.

  5. Robert Benwell Says:

Good luck to the electric bill if you have this one.

  6. Tony Says:

They look like RGB, I’ve never seen a bi-colour LED that does purple.

Website says they’re surface mount RGB LEDs, the display is made of 6 modules, each has a maximum of 2000W, average of 420W. Like Mats says, 12,000W. At 5V that’s some 2,500 amps!! Wow.

    Hmmm, 76,000 x 3 x 10mA = 2280A. Fair enough then. (Mats assumed 20mA.)

Price wasn’t mentioned, but I guess if you have to ask you can’t afford it.

    Want!

Note to self: upgrade fuse box, check wiring.

Oh my god, I hope everyone dies. I hate it when you can’t see those damn youtube videos, b/s you are outside the us…

  8. Punkguyta Says:

This is kinda oldish news… I saw it like a year ago online somewhere, but still non the less, it’s just as amazing to see it, and I bet no one has outdone multiplexing a wackload of LED’s better than this yet.

  9. Maigo Says:

Man, that would be a great fishtank
