Triuky left a comment about his DIY Circuit Board UV Exposure Box with Timer in the comment section of this DIY UV LED Double Sided PCB Exposure Box he us using some small UV florescent tubes similar to the ones that I used when making my UV PCB exposure system. Instead of purchasing a tube with ballast he cracked open a few screw in florescent fixtures and used the small ballast boards from them. Check out MG Chemicals. They have a pre-sensitized board that you expose with regular fluorescent lamps. I use a regular drop light that uses them. Works great. Exposure is quick, so there’s little under cutting, and you don’t need a lot of fancy stuff like bulbs and timers.

Oh yeah, I haven’t looked into it yet, but they also offer a “plated through hole” kit aimed at the “hobbyist.” Not sure how much it was or what all was involved, but it sounded really good. Think, PTH’s at home!!
