The first 8 seconds of this short video looks like a nice little robot with 4 wheels and a raising and lowering center platform. After the 8 second mark this robot shows us what is cool with this robot! As it approaches the first raised step the platform is thrust upward to the top of its travel very quickly, the result is a jumping robot! The robotics department of the Chiba Institute of Technology in Japan has developed a number of great looking robots, unfortunately I don’t think they have an English site (if they do and I missed it please leave a comment).
