Here is an example of cool electrical art. As crazy as this outlet wall is there were many times that I wish that is exactly what I had behind my workbench. There is usually always just one device that can’t be plugged in because of a large wall wart or the cable just doesn’t quite reach. My second thought imagine the wiring nightmare that must have been, and amp breaker are they running on it.
Reminds me of the old telephone switch boards.

I love it!! Have to agree with Pouncer though that is a ton of copper wire going on there. However I wish I had at 2 walls just like it.

WIN. I just have to wonder about the safety… having that much wire in the wall, and whether it can handle the load.
You could hang posters by sticking them to those plastic childproof outlet caps too.

If they’re not all real, I hope they have a good way to tell which are.
I like the idea mentioned on that page of plugging in a bunch of nightlights. Get the ones with sensors that turn off when a brighter light source is available. Light up the entire room with a bunch of them and see if you can get them to fight. One comes on, the total light output becomes enough to shut another off, the resulting drop in light output causes another to turn on… could be interesting.

@ The voice in your head: that’s a great fun idea. I swear I’ve seen something similar with LEDs (perhaps in the context of them being “fireflys”) but nothing near the scale of a whole wall; that would be awesome. Off the top of my head it seems like it would end up evolving to having a certain spacing between lights. Nearby ones won’t light, farther ones will want to, but neighbors to those farther ones won’t. Then, if a certain overall population density reaches a height and room ambient light increases, then the more sensitive ones will perish. Almost starting to sound like it would be The Game of Life on a wall. Interesting stuff…

As awesome as this is, it is 100% a photoshop job. If you look at the detailed photos you can clearly see that every one of the sockets is cloned and that shadows on the wires extending down are faked.

at first thought it is funy and it is smart but
at second it is bad because if you connect empty wire in to AC it will use electricity not much but it will sou think how much wires going to be connected there and how much electricity will be used not much but there is second problem
which you will face is the 1st. maybe those wires will prudes noise because they are to many and they have AC electricity
and 2nd. is bad mod why because sou much wires are ther they will preduce magnetic waves

If the full wall was wired it wouldn’t be as bad electronically as one might think. Provided you wired in in a sane matter(star distribution, not all in series) the wall would act as one big electrical shield. The entire wall would still be on one circuit breaker at 15A and as long as you don’t plug in more that 1850 watts of equipment it would work fine.
The magnetic field produced by current being drawn from the plugs is canceled out in one wire by the other. Its also very weak.
The leakage current is extremely low. It wouldn’t be any different than the wire running all the way back to the electrical panel.
As long as the wall was wired to code with a little common sense it would be fine from an electronics and electrical point of view. Now it wouldn’t be the safest thing to have around kids. It would be safer than having a bunch of power bars and extension cords running everywhere. When ever I’m specing out electrical work I always request at least a quad box(4 plug ins) where ever electronic equipment is going to go along with a surge protector in the panel.
The biggest problem with this wall is the expense. All those boxes and plugs is going to add up, its going to cost over $20 a sqft.
