Wireless LED Scrolling Display

at 1:37 pm. Filed under Complex Hacks, Electronic Hacks

Ryan from Ohararp has put together a modular Wireless LED Scrolling Display that looks very flexible and uses that cool ioBridge that we are starting to see used more and more.

"A uPic is used to talk to the led drivers (8xMax7219’s) through the serial port (in this case an XBEE)."

Good project, The display could use a front cover to increase the contrast for easier viewing…

The contrast for these is actually very good … even without a front cover. It`s the videocamera that makes it look at bit bad, but take it outdoors ( blue LEDs are good for this ) or in the dark and the thing really pops out :)

That makes since. I bet you could read it across a football field!

So, could this be linked to display real time sports scores, and news headlines? that would be awesome for a home theater or home bar!
