Haven’t seen one of these for quite some time, took me a while and a little googling to remember what it was, didn’t fine you’re exact image but enough to jump-start my memory. Time was that you wouldn’t be able to find a picture of one of those let alone technical specs.

It took some hunting, but this exact picture is out there.

Heh, I repair the modern versions of the equipment that this item belongs to. Made it pretty easy to identify this week’s thing

Tineye makes these way too easy.

I am surprised that some of you guys know what it is. I was thinking this may be the first one that stumped everyone.

I think you are right mykey and Jack. There were only 38 entries, I was going for something very hard this time and I think I found it.

Wow,
My first entry!!! I work at Varian Medical Systems as a Final Test Technician and we use the modern form. I was also in the navy, so we used them there in the form of the picture, which is denounced by the U.S.N. on it.

That was good luck! Although this was probably about the best one to know since there were not that many entries.

Alan, is there a way to prevent Tineye from working on your contests? I was totally stumped on this one, then saw the comment above by Wolf and found it in 2 seconds. I didn’t enter this contest since it would have been cheating. Technology could take the fun out of your contests

Hey Steve,
I saw the Tineye but didn’t know what it was until I just Googled it right now. That is an amazing system. I remember making a system similar to it in university, it took lots of code to recognize a 1 person out of 10. I can just imagine how much processing those images go through to be recognized! I am not sure what can be done to prevent that system from detecting the image since they were not even identical!

Lol, I’m surprised it took so long to google that. I thought about not mentioning it but I figure it’s too useful a service to just keep to myself.
