Nice to see another company following the path that Tesla Motors did when making the Tesla Roadster. This new electric sport bike is a high performance electric vehicle made by Mission Motors. I am looking forward to see what other innovative vehicles come out in 2009. "It is the first production electric sportbike that features uncompromised performance and an iconic new design created by world-renowned designers Yves Béhar and fuseproject. With a top speed of 150 MPH and an estimated range of 150 miles, the Mission One rivals gasoline sportbikes while dwarfing the performance of any other electric motorcycle on the market. The electric drivetrain creates a riding experience unlike anything currently available on a production vehicle. The electric motor’s linear torque curve provides peak torque at zero rpm, a feature gasoline engines cannot match. The motor delivers faster acceleration than most gasoline sportbikes without ever having to shift gears." Via: Auto Blog Green |

A bike that can do 150MPH (241km/h)? The word suicycle comes to mind.

Clearly, you haven’t been on –any– kind of sports motorcycle, Voice. Ride a Hayabusa and then say that.
That being said, I’d definitely take an electric over a gas powered bike. Just for the geek factor.

I love this thing…
I just ripped into a few Eco-haters and uninformed non-tech heads over at Treehugger about this thing.

Love the bike, hate the price.

Thanks Elepski,
The more people that get jazzed about this technology the faster they will be mass produced! Thanks for spreading the word.

Hey Pouncer,
That’s the problem with everything that is bleeding edge… I will just leave it to guys like Jason Calacanis who have the money to play with toys like this so that it has a chance to make it to large scale production.

when the price becomes more reasonable I could definitely see myself buying 1. I think my biggest issue is I forget to charge my cell phone, I’d hate to have to be responsible for charging the thing every day.
