Now, THAT’s a pair of binoculars! I was trying to find plans for a reflecting telescope the other night. There were two bright lights in the sky that I noticed 4 nights in a row. I figured space station and shuttle? Then, I found that the shuttle had landed a few days before I noticed them. After checking the NASA website, I found out they were planets.
Very nice project. If only I could come up with some $$ to get supplies!

[…] Monocular telescopes form the base of space watching. Staring light years away into the galaxy with a single eye at times gets tiring, but then you canโ€™t stuff both the eyes into the single eye space available. How about an idea where the pair of eyes can be put to equal work and the best possible view of the space is perceived? Banking on this principle, a few minds have made a binocular to replace the regular telescope. The telescope pictured here is the largest known visual binocular, which helps view the galaxy more clearly than has been seen with the telescopes of the same power. This gigantic binocular built for the 3 Rivers Foundation and located at the Comanche Springs Observatory, Crowell, Texas, provides extraordinarily pleasing views with acuteness and colors. Binocular-scope (if I have the liberty to say that) is a huge 22-inch binocular telescope, with all gravest details on it available. You can get all that you want to know about the binocular telescope here, before you gear up to build one of this yourself. HackedGadgets/HackaDay […]
