Webcam Vision Projects

Ashish Derhgawen has done lots of interesting work with vision. You can see all of his projects on his Ashish’s Programming Journal. Best of all the vision is captured with a simple webcam which makes these projects possible for any hobbyist. Here are a few links to my favorite projects of his.

Laser Pointer used as a Mouse (first video).
Pan Tilt Webcam using a Mouse (second video). This project uses a Pan Tilt module from our friends over at Trossen.
Cell Phone Controlled Door (third video) Not a webcam vision project but too cool to leave out.

Cool, but what does a cell-phone-controlled lock have to do with a webcam?

I wonder if you could point the webcam at the screen, and actually be able to point at things on the screen to click them.

Very true, I was originally only going to reference the first two projects but the third was too good to leave out. So I guess it is an unrelated bonus.
