Setup your digital camera on a tripod, turn off the lights and get out your favorite laser pointer to make some brilliant pictures! It does take some practice to make a good image but when it works the results are great. Thanks to Laura from China for sharing. "How to use a laser pointer to draw, to write and to record it? I think it is a very interesting thing. With the help of a camera with the function which could set longer exposure time, you could easily record what you draw and write with the laser pointers. The laser pointers include 405 nm blu-ray laser pointer, 532 nm green laser pointer, 473 nm blue laser pointer, 593.5 nm orange laser pointer. This is so old. My buddy & I were doing that more than 15 years ago… wtf?

[…] It’s an obvious idea that we’d never thought of before. Put your camera on a tripod and set it for a slow exposure. Now pull out a laser pointer and spell out your deepest inner feelings (”I <3 Cheese”). When you see the shot, the laser trail will appear solid and continuous, just like a neon sign. And at that juncture, you will finally have the motivation to come clean to your friends and family and just move to Wisconsin already. [Picasa via Hackedgadgets] […]

We do the same thing in art summer camp but with homemade LED flashlights in different colors. We use a 20 second exposure at F16 and have multiple kids paint in different colors at the same time.
