Solar Hot Water Panel with Sun Tracker

at 8:37 pm. Filed under Complex Hacks

Banev left a comment on this sun tracker project that shows his cool Solar Hot Water Panel with Sun Tracker in operation. The panels follow the sun and heat water in a hot water tank. The computer monitoring is what makes it real interesting!

What were the lines on the graph?
Red I’m guessing was the temperature of the water in the system, but what were the green and blue lines representing?

I suppose the blue could have been water intake temperature, although with temperatures around 0° its a little cold…

  4. Banev Says:

Blue line is logic of Pump - On and Off.

    Banev,

What’s the availability of the tracking system in the US? I currently have 2 Steible Eltron panels and an 80 gallon tank, but have always wanted to devise some sort of tracking system.

  6. Solar Hot Water Sunshine Coast Says:

Great idea to get the most efficiency with PV panels. Where I live at the Sunshine Coast -Queensland, Australia we have perfect conditions for solar heating systems all year round using standard panels. We are very lucky.
