Ball Throwing Machine that a Dog can load

at 5:39 am. Filed under Complex Hacks, Cool Gadgets, Electronic Hacks, Funny Hacks

If you have a dog this Ball Throwing Machine could provide hours of fun for him when you are out. It looks overkill for what is needed (just the way we like it).

"I built the ball machine because I thought my dog Jerry, might like it and that it would be something fun for me to build. So after two years of on and off work, with many safety features such as IR proximity sensors to protect Jerry and my son from the machine, I finally complete. "

Lol. That is downright brilliant. Very cute dog. Very smart as well! Not only did it learn to put the ball in the machine, but i learned to run when it hears the sound of the cocking the mechanism activates!

[...] If you have a dog that likes to fetch, then you’re going to love the video above. YouTube user Lamgngo posted this video in January and no doubt, Jerry the dog and his son have been having fun since. I smell a patent…Speaking of which, there is this entry from Patently Silly for a pet activated ball thrower, no doubt this automated version with IR proximity sensing is a better solution. I’ve been thinking about making something similar for my cat but am horrified at the though of a safety not working properly.

I’d love to see plans on automated pet toys like these. The guy I mention here, http://armchairinventors.com/forum/index.php?topic=8.0 is actually making a bit of money off a remote/web/cam system constructed from a toy mouse and a CD drive.

As someone pointed out on youtube for this video, i hope you have a patent, someone would probibly love to take this idea, its really neat man.
