Sewing Machine turned into a Jigsaw

at 5:04 am. Filed under DIY Hacks, Funny Hacks

Felipe from Brazil sent in some pictures and a video of his Jigsaw that has been turned into a Sewing Machine. I have never seen a hack to do this before but it is a cool idea. It also looks like the presser foot and feed dog help to feed the material through the blade. I think it would be interesting to replace the feed dog with two servos so that you could drive the material through the blade!

Man, I’m Brazilian and I feel ashamed by that. People don’t try this!!! It’s completely unsafe, the sewing machine motor is not made for it, it doesn’t have the right power. Besides, using a stationary saw that is not firmly attached to a table or bench is extremelly dangerous, not to mention that the blade might just escape its holder and fly in your direction (a needle holder is not meant to hold a blade that is cutting metal or wood).

Thanks Bill and Marks for that. I have changed the name of the article.

Luiz not feel embarrassed, it is no longer fool, some Brazilians are known internationally for making things worse. I at least did something that I is useful and can be useful for many people, before disclosing the results, I made hazardous testing on the machine, I made all kinds of things wrong with it, even cut metal and strong, to ensure that it would not break any pieces flying in and out for light work I assure the security of the machine, because if it cut steel and iron, wood and aluminum will be very secure.

As the power and rpm, I swapped the original engine with a more potent.

PS. You should use safety equipment with any kind of machine whether homemade or industrialized.
