Hey Neo, Plug me into the Matrix

at 9:40 am. Filed under Electronic Hacks, Human Hacks

Oh Boy, This is getting really scary. I have not given this much thought, but as I read this article I was hit with a ton of bricks. Pretty soon we will be able to hack ourselves!!!

I’m looking forward to these technologies maturing a bit more. I want to drive by just thinking about driving!

Reading neural output is cool, but it’s going to be scary once we figure out how to input data!

i dont really get it tbh, i think the articles say that these machines could allow us to rebiuld broken links that could allow us to uncover old memories or help us to learn how to walk after being in a coma for a year. From what i can tell, this is not really special in terms of the whole ghost in the shell/ matrix idea where everything becomes cyberised and we can talk without cell phones etc. + the first article says that brain tissue or any tissue for that matter (i think) reacts with metal, this would would make it impossible for the neck-jack to exist, sadly i dont think the matrix is going to be setting the standard for the future the same way star trek did ie mobile phones, automatic sliding doors lol (and no i dont watch star trek, there was just a thing on tv with william shatner who is hilaryous, and he was claiming to have revolutionised the world) i digress, there would seem to be some hope for this age of cyberisation if memory serves though, i saw something a while ago about how scientists had somehow put remote control devices in to the heads of rats, for the purpose of looking for survivors after buildings had collapsed.. but yeah thats it from a guy who has a little bit too much time on his hands lol
