Propeller Clock

at 5:21 am. Filed under Complex Hacks, Electronic Hacks

There is something about spinning displays that is mesmerizing. Not a big fan of the music, but the audio effects are well done!

“Mechanical scanned display rotating in a 160mm diameter plastic ball. This is the monichrom version with realtime data transferring over a rotating transformer.”

Did you mean Mesmerising instead of memorising, by any chance? (spell checker strikes again :))

  2. Alan Parekh Says:

LOL, thanks nice catch. That is almost what I meant…

  3. Neil Says:

Im not sure what is worse…the music or the rotating display. I felt sick after watching that. Something about those kind of displays don’t sit will with me for some reason.

  4. Alexander Says:

that was disgusting. Although I too am mesmerized by spinning displays [the novelty of bright light glowing on unseen medium is hypnotic], that music was awful. I wonder how much a large one would cost.

  5. Bradley Says:

Somebody should make something like that, that you plug into your computer and upload what ever images and sounds, and even be able to create programs to run on it.
