I’m thinking we should get some DIY Software Oscilloscopes, or maybe even hardware ones. I’ve been looking for one in my price range, which is cheap, everywhere and I can’t seem to find any. Even scavenging tips would be helpful.

I recently purchased a cheap 10mhz scope on ebay. There’s usually at least one of the same type at any time, around $140. Search for “10mhz compact”.

It’s cheap, lacks many features, but it does the basic job. For a hobbyist scope, someone who just wants to make sure that the clock output is really doing what it’s supposed to do, it’s fine. It needs constant TLC on the adjustments, but that’s something that I can live with.

I’ve also run into this: http://www.fpga4fun.com/Hands-on_Flashy.html and it’s been tickling my fancy. I haven’t taken the plunge yet; all told, once you assemble everything, it’s roughly the same price as a traditional scope.

    Thanks All for the comments.

I will do some research on cheap oscilloscope buys, both hardware based and software based.

    Thanks

I think one of the hardest things on cheap hosting is getting the support you need. I do agree though that you need to watch out for what your talking about.
