SNES RCA Video Mod

at 5:18 am. Filed under DIY Hacks, Electronic Hacks, Game Hacks

Hack your Super NES to have audio out and composite video out.

“Well, I was sick of having to dig behind my TV to exchange the cable from my Nintendo 64 to play my SNES. So I figured why not install two RCA jacks so I can plug it directly into the front of my TV.”

Thanks for sending this hack in Sashi.

Why not get another SNES/N64 AV cable. and from the images provided here, all you did was setup the SNES for Mono audio output. why not do Stereo?

Don’t they use the same cable already? I know SNES and GC do

  5. Sashi Says:

I did mono audio because my television doesn’t have stereo input. And I suppose I could of bought another cable but this was more fun.

I did a male version of this to a Genesis I bought without a cable; funny part, I cut up a 6′ SNES cable to do it 🙂

The 64 and GC and SNES use the same cable. So it really doesnt matter. The connection is already there.

PEOPLE!!! ON EARLY SNES THAT GROUND HE IS SHOWING IN HIS PHOTO IS NOT A GROUND!!!

Hey, that ground you are showing is actually positive voltage on my SNES.

You need to append your guide to prevent other people from frying their SNES consoles.

  15. Majestic_Lizard Says:

Seriously, this guide just cost me $60 and destroyed a console that had sentimental value.
