Accordion Folding Chair

at 5:43 am. Filed under Funny Hacks, Insane Equipment

This is one of the coolest chairs I have ever seen. It looks very sturdy, with a few modifications I could see this being used as the seating that is stored in the closet waiting for an occasion where you have lots of guests. A cloth band that locks the folds in the selected configuration could keep the chair from re-contorting over time.

notice that for the sitting part of the demonstration the chair was put into it’s most stable (highest load bearing) configuration. It wuld probably collapse is one sat on it in one of the more spread out configurations. Maybe not, but they should have demod that capability.

    According to their website: http://www.flexiblelove.com/products/
the smallest model (for only two people) weighs about 15 pounds and can accommodate 480kg. That’s over 1000 pounds. The large model you see in the demo is supposed to be able to take over two tons.
