Looking for a UV LED project? Tool Using Animal takes an ordinary flashlight and turns it into a cool UV flashlight!
“Danger Will Robinson, This is a UV mod for my beloved harbor freight flashlight So here comes the disclaimers. UV is dangerous, it’ll give you cancer, cataracts, and steal your check book, if you build this, You Will Die!! Although probably your death will not be related to this instructable. But seriously DO NOT shine this into anyone’s eyes.”
Just to let you know, any LED light that dosen’t use any sort of power-transistors or switching circuits can be modified in this way. The harbor-freight lights are just cheap and durable as all heck.
We have a HF store near me. Methinks I may have to make a visit.
(Oh, and the reason you can’t use any LED light that uses switching/transistors as each LED has differn’t voltages and if they are using a boost converter or PWM for the lights you’ll blow the LED’s real quick–unless you get lucky, and you find LED’s that are the same voltages. Which I doubt.)
