Who needs coffee when you can get woken up with a jolt each morning? That is what Clinton Mann can do now since he created a shock clock. I am thinking this could be the start of a good alarm system. When your house alarm goes off simply electrify the jewellery box to give the thieves a little surprise!
“The idea for this project came to me about a year ago, it was right around the time I made the homebrew handheld shocker. I wanted to make something that I could shock my unsuspecting friends with and yet have it still be very annoying, and that’s how I came up with the idea for the shock alarm clock.”

Seriously, this hack is dangerous. The voltage/current coming from the capacitor of a flash unit is NOT the same as a stun baton. The flash delivers a lower voltage but a HIGHER current, which is why this is dangerous.

I know you probably don’t like to hear it but like andy says those things are dangerous. I have read about cases in Japan in which school children would zap eachother as a prank but then a few started to die from it.

That would be a good idea for an alarm clock, if it wasn’t dangerous.
