Fish Controlled Robot

at 10:31 am. Filed under Crazy Hacks

We have all seen the roach robot, well not fish also have a chance to control a robot!

“Seth Weiner’s art project is a vehicle called Terranaut. This interesting vessel is driven by the motions of a parrot cichlid in a fish bowl. A camera mounted above the tank tracks the fish’s movement and relays that information to a computer, which then drives the robot in the direction the fish was traveling. With this contraption the fish is capable of exploring land in a way never before possible. It’s one small step for fish, one giant leap for fish-kind or something.”

Bluetooth headset modification

at 5:13 am. Filed under DIY Hacks, Electronic Hacks

This is a cool DIY Bluetooth mod that looks like it gives you good results for a small investment in parts.

“Why did I do it?
Well, the original BT headset was kind of crappy. People were complaining that they can’t hear me properly, and the audio volume was not the best either. Plus, wearing it behind the ear is not very comfortable, at least not for me.
Another reason is that I like to hack things, just for the fun of it.
I want to mention that this is a prototype, so it’s not looking as good as it could. I use it only at home, so the aesthetic aspect was totally unimportant for me. All I cared about was for it to be comfortable and reliable.”
