I wouldn’t mount a solar panel on it tho. Solar panels are fragile and keychains get beat around alot! IF you use coin batteries make sure they are attached very well so they don’t fall off.
No, I haven’t tried to sell any on ebay yet, but I’m thinking about it so that my site gets more traffic. You don’t happen to have a site you could promote mine on do you? Any ideas?

I don’t have a site no. You can try listing on these other sites like this one tech sites. I wasn’t thinking the solar panel thing through. What about those solar panels in the calculators they’re made out of some fairly tuff stuff. Anyway that’s on the back burner. I was thinking you could do belt buckles and other accoutrements. I was going to do a belt buckle with leds myself now I’m thinking of drawing up a pcb with strategically placed leds and maybe a simple flasher. I would definitely try ebay it’s worth a shot. I have been listing different collectibles for my parents and they do well. Ebay keeps raising the fees though (I guess that’s what you get when they have a monopoly on e-auctions). You could always buy traffic but that gets expensive. Word of mouth is the best way to get the right traffic. Go shout about your key chains on myspace and other “social” sites.

Oh? I never have checked what the output is of your average calculator solar panel? I don’t have one to check but I bet if you run enough of them you’ll get enough juice. I have heard about a new type of solar panel that is made like a plastic and comes in a fabric form and are supposed to be insanely tough and versatile. (I don’t know how much they cost or when they hit the market I saw it like a year ago on the Science Channel)They also must be making some stronger form for those backpacks that recharge your appliances. I don’t know anything about solar panels but I have wanted to learn a bit, I’m tired of wasting batteries and I don’t want rechargeable until I can have them recharge themselves.

The solar cells off of calculators produce about 1.5 volts at around 2 micro amps (LED’s using about 50-100 micro amps). That is ALOT of calculator solar pannles. I’ve also heard about the flexible solar pannels, but haven’t seen any on the market… I hear hampster wheels are good for battery charging.
