Garage Monitor

at 6:11 am. Filed under DIY Hacks, Electronic Hacks

Is your garage not quite up to par in the technology area? Sounds like you need to install some electronics to help out. A Garage Monitor might be what you are looking for.

“Need to know if the garage door is open? Need to know if you pulled in far enough for the door to close without hitting your bike? Need to know all this with web access… I present the garage monitor 3000.
When the car reaches the right spot, the LED turns from green to red.
This is a work in progress, this is just version 1.0, I think it will go through a few changes to make it even better.”

Nice work, also have the possibility of detecting something on fire, car/garage items being thieved, photo taken. Like the idea of the pir instead of using ultrasonic measurements from the car front.
Will be watching out for later revisions

  2. Kevin Says:

Fire might be difficult, as most smoke detectors will get messed up with false alarms because of the exhaust from automobiles.
