The Robotic Chair

at 1:48 am. Filed under Complex Hacks, Digg, Insane Equipment

Not sure if there are any camera tricks here, if there isn’t this is an amaizing chair. Don’t mistake it for the common walking chair.

“Raffaello D’Andrea’s latest dynamic art project, a chair that falls apart then puts itself back together! From the same artist who brought you the robotic table.”

It is impressive, but you can see when the camera changes angle after it falls apart that some of the parts have been re-positioned for easy re-assembly.

Hi Chris, You are right I didn’t catch that one. I did notice though when leg 3 is being attached there is a cut and the leg is moved slightly.

    Silla robot

¡Una silla robot que se desarma en pedazos y se vuelve a ensamblar ella sola!. Del artista italiano Raffaello D’Andrea, que también creo la mesa robot.

Looks like this could be fun. Must be very new since i can’t find any info on it on the net. Has anyone found more info, for example the motor and radio setup, etc.

This is big thinking self assembly of common objects- then, self assembly of the components.

  8. Bryan A. Says:

Very neat even if the pieces are prepared during a cut. Sensors involved must be fun to work with - probably cheaper to build a chair that doesn’t fall apart? ;) jk Really clever and strong piece of C&C
